Adaptive Reuse Hotel at the RailSpur District
Join us for an exclusive tour of Populus Seattle, a landmark adaptive-reuse project designed by The Miller Hull Partnership. This event offers an opportunity to experience firsthand how history, nature, and contemporary design converge in downtown Seattle’s storied Pioneer Square.
From 4:00 to 5:30 PM, the architects and hotel operators will guide guests through the hotel’s most compelling spaces, beginning in the lobby and extending into the guestrooms and amenity spaces. Along the way, they will share insights into the building’s transformation—from its origins as the 1907 Westland Building, with its Douglas fir joists and heavy timber beams, to its rebirth as a modern boutique hotel that thoughtfully preserves its industrial character.
You will explore how natural light, organic materials, and artful details were woven into the design to create a biophilic experience that reflects the lush Pacific Northwest, and how the design balanced the district’s gritty historic fabric with contemporary architecture and hospitality.
Following the tour, beginning at 5:30 PM, guests are invited to ascend to Firn, the rooftop bar at the hotel, for networking and conversation.
